Express Entry Draw Set to Resume by July 6 - NohProblem Consulting

Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, has announced that Express Entry draws for all programs are expected to resume by first week of July 2022. This would include draws under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC). IRCC also targets to keep the service back on track to the usual six months processing times. The most recent draw for FSWP and FSTP was on December of 2020 while CEC draw was last held on September 2021.

What does this mean for you?

This is certainly good news to foreign workers who are planning to immigrate to Canada. Now that Invitations to Apply (ITA) for Permanent Residency will soon reopen, there will be a better chance of successfully moving to the country.

What can you do to prepare?

If you have not entered the Express Entry pool, now is a good time to begin. Complete the requirements and start creating your profile at the IRCC website. Depending on the category you would like to apply under, there are minimum requirements you need to meet. You will also need a language exam result that is less than two years and an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) that is less than 5 years.
